About The Toronto Bead and Jewellery Meetup

Background:
Heather Taylor organized a Toronto Bead Meetup several years ago prior to Meetup charging fees. It was a small group who loved to bead and get together to do so primarily in the summer. When fees where charged, the group moved over to Yahoo.

Since that time, Heather has become the co-owner with Patricia Huff of a retail bead store in Toronto - Bead Junction.

The Yahoo group wasn't attracting many new members, so in order to energize the group, Heather decided to sponsor the Meetup group, i.e. pay the fees and maintain the site.

Calendar:
What will you find on the calendar?

1. The date of the monthly Meetup meeting.

2. Another free event we offer at the store called the Beading Bee. This is generally held weekly and has a devoted following. You are always welcome to attend the Beading Bees, and you don't have to RSVP, register, etc., just show up.

3. Events of interest to members which are not offered by this meetup group or Bead Junction. These include the Toronto Bead Society meetings and consumer shows that we participate in or enjoy. There may be entry fees for these events. Always check the link for further details.

4. Although Bead Junction offers lots of classes on a regular basis, they are not on this calendar - unless they are very special - like international teachers who are in town - once in a lifetime opportunities.

General Rules:

1. No Advertising or Selling. Although of course we like you to keep Bead Junction in mind, advertising and sales are not what this group is for. With that in mind, members are restricted from selling or advertising on this group.
